Tiger & Bunny mengambil setting di kota fiksi, Sternbild, yang terletak di New York dimana terdapat individual (manusia super/super human) yang disebut NEXT. Beberapa dari golongan ini menjadi superhero (pahlawan) yang bekerja dengan perusahaan mereka masing-masing. Biasanya aktivitas mereka akan di broadcast oleh stasiun televisi, "Hero TV", yang membuat penilaian berupa point untuk setiap tindakan heroik yang dilakukan para heroes. Hero dengan nilai point tertinggi mendapat julukan "King of Heroes".
Tokoh utama dalam anime Tiger & Bunny ini adalah Kotetsu T. Kaburagi, salah seorang hero berusia 30 tahun yang dikenal sebagai "Wild Tiger". Setelah perusahaan tempat ia bekerja gulung tikar, ia dipaksa untuk berpartner dengan seorang hero muda bernama Barnaby Brooks Jr yang merupakan satu-satunya hero yang tanpa segan-segan menampilkan wujud aslinya didepan semua orang. Dibandingkan dirinya, hero yang masih muda itu lebih dikenal masyarakat karena ketampanan, bakat serta sisi karismatiknya.(Source: Wikipedia).
